Help ensure fresh, nutritious food reaches families in the Hilton Head and Beaufort county area who currently have no permanent food pantry serving their community.
St. Andrews by the Sea, on Hilton Head Island, will host a monthly fresh produce distribution on the third Tuesday of each month throughout 2026.
Volunteers will help sort and bag fresh produce for distribution to the public and other local food pantries. Volunteers will be unloading, sorting, and bagging produce into individual grocery-size bags. In addition, volunteers will help load remaining produce into a Second Helpings van or truck for delivery to other partner food pantries.
This role involves light to moderate physical activity. Volunteers may occasionally be asked to lift produce boxes or bags weighing up to 50 pounds and should be comfortable picking up and bagging grocery-size produce bags.
Volunteers should wear a Second Helpings shirt and weather-appropriate clothing. You will meet in the back parking lot of the St. Andrew By-The-Sea where the Second Helpings Area Coordinator will be on hand to assist and answer any questions.
