Food Truck Rescuers

Second Helpings is a nonprofit food rescue organization dedicated to eliminating hunger across the South Carolina Lowcountry. Since 1992, we’ve partnered with grocery stores, retailers, farmers, and community donors to rescue fresh, healthy food that would otherwise go to waste.

Our team of over 500 volunteers delivers this food—3.6 million pounds in 2025—to 57 local agencies serving 14,000 people every week in Beaufort, Jasper, and Hampton counties. Powered by volunteers and driven by compassion, Second Helpings turns surplus food into hope, nourishment, and stability for our neighbors.
