Volunteer: Port Royal Farmer's Market Volunteer

This Sign Up is for the Farmer's Market Helper.  Each shift requires a lead and a 2nd volunteer. The Lead volunteer must have experience in hosting this table and be able to coordinate the pick up of the equipment. Volunteers must be able to carry/set up a canopy in addition to loading some produce in their vehicle for delivery at the end of the event.

After signing up for the first time, a Second Helpings volunteer will reach out to share more information!

Every Saturday, Second Helpings hosts a table at the Port Royal Farmers Market to collect fresh produce from farmers, accept cash and packaged food donations, share information about our mission, and engage potential volunteers.

Two volunteers staff the table each week from 8:00 AM to noon, handling a simple setup (canopy, table, brochures- must be picked up at local storage unit) and breakdown at closing. Donations typically include 100+ lbs of produce and an average of $90 in contributions, all of which directly support our hunger-relief work. Produce donations are dropped off at Help of Beaufort and the setup must be returned to storage. It’s a fun, rewarding way to meet the community and share the Second Helpings story—and the generosity we see every week is inspiring.
